Dental Implants FAQs

What is a Dental Implant?

Dental Implants are man-made replacements for natural teeth. The implants themselves are artificial tooth roots anchored in the gum or jawbone on which replacement teeth are permanently secured. Since implanted teeth are fixed in the mouth rather than removable like dentures, they allow the wearer to return to the comfort and function associated with natural teeth. The bone actually bonds to the Implants. This allows the teeth to be replaced without placing any pressure on the gums, thus eliminating the pain normally associated with dentures.

What are Dental Implants made of?

Implants are made from titanium, a biologically safe metal, they are designed in various shapes and sizes to fit your individual needs.

How much do Dental Implants cost?

The fee for implants varies according to the patient's needs. It starts as low as $2999 for a single implant from start to finish (including surgery and crown). Fort his reason, we offer a no-charge consultation. Why not call us today at 416-800-2542 to arrange your visit?

How will I benefit from Dental Implants?

The first and most obvious benefit is the enhanced ability to chew and enjoy your food. Using dental implants, the upperteeth can be replaced without covering the roof of the mouth. By exposing the roof of the mouth, the former denture wearer can enjoy the subtle tastes and textures of food and drink that they have been missing out on for so many years. They also stop bone loss in the area where the teeth are missing, which otherwise continues through life. Implants also eliminate the embarrassment and inconvenience associated with removable teeth. Implants also allow single missing teeth to be replaced without cutting down healthy ones.

DENTAL BRIDGES ARE NO LONGER THE RECOMMENDED SOLUTION TO REPLACE MISSING TEETH...IMPLANTS HAVE A 98% SUCCESS RATE LONG TERM. 30% of dental bridges fail in 10 years, 50% within 15 years, leaving fewer options when they fail. The best news is that the latest breakthrough in implant technology makes implant tooth replacement possible for individuals who previously could not have been placed before. We have experience in implant therapy. With the aid ofonsite implant specialist (Periodontist), your complete treatment can be handled in the conveniently located, ultra modern office.

How long will the procedure take?

The length of the procedure varies according to the needs of the individual. They can be placed in as little as 30 minutes for a single implant to as much as several hours for a mouthful. This question can be better answered at our no-charge evaluation appointment. Why not call us today at 416-800-2542 to arrange your no obligation visit.

Will my Insurance cover my Dental Implant treatment?

Many insurance carriers help with the fees required for implant dentistry. It depends on your particular insurance policy. Bring your policy booklet in with you and we'll be glad to have our insurance coordinator review it and help maximize your benefits. Because we do the surgery and crown, we have more flexibility to keep our fees lower!

How long have dentists been placing implants for?

Implants are not new to the dental field. Modern medicine began the procedure in 1948 and they have been perfected in the past three decades. Yes. The procedure is LESS involved than having a tooth pulled, and have a success rate of 98%. Most of our patients are choosing implants over bridges because they are so easy and more comfortable.

Is the procedure painful?

Most patients experience very little discomfort with the procedure. Most of our patients do fine with standard medications. We offer simple pill sedation. You are given a small pill to take an hour priorto your dental appointment. Your companion will accompany you to the office. You'll be sedated just enough to be unaware of the treatment, as if you were relaxing. You'll feel refreshed, with little or no memory of what was accomplished. When your treatment is completed your companion will return you home to finish your comfortable, relaxing day.

Can I wear my dentures during treatment?

You will be able to wear your dentures and/or partials for the entire time (except for a few days after implant placement).
Immediately following the placement of the implants, we advise our patients to go without their dentures (if they were wearing them previously) for two to three days for healing. After that time, however, you may wear your denture comfortably until the final teeth are placed. If a single tooth is being replaced, we can provide a natural looking temporary tooth replacement if needed.
